Our Bulls
As the polled gene is dominant and so only requires it to be passed on from one parent you can see why we are so excited to have two bulls of different bloodlines with which to introduce this much desired trait into our whole herd.
Rawlings Blueprint (above) DOB 24/09/06 has served over 90 cows and has given us the greatest herd improvement in terms of depth, volume and width consistently from all types of females. It is almost certain that he is double polled as both his dam and sire are polled, and he has only produced polled calves. A limited number of semen shares are available in Blueprint, with his genetics already being sold to Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria, but be quick to get these quality polled red bloodlines. Blueprint's first daughter in milk, Rawlings Delta Blue, has just classified VG86 on her first lactation, we are very pleased with her score, particularly the improvement in legs and feet, and her dual purpose characterisitics.
Our other red bull Rawlings Coppertop (below left) DOB 14/07/07 is also polled, though has developed small scurs. This would indicate that he only carries one polled gene, but with careful matings we should still be able to achieve a generation of polled red Dexters. Coppertop is now going to Darlingrange Dexter Stud in Victoria, as he has given us what we believe to be a double polled son, Rawlings ET (below right) who has very different genetics to the rest of our herd on his dam's side.

New Polled Genetics for our herd

Kirup Park Esquire
We have been fortunate to acquire the best Kirup Park genetics when the two herds combined. This has given us the opportunity to get a totally outcross polled bull for use in our herd. Kirup Park Esquire was born 15/12/09 and is out of Kirup Park Angelica, Perth Royal Show Supreme Champion from 2009, and by Elgin Park Nevada, himself a multiple show champion. His calves will be eagerly anticiapted in the coming years
Young horned bull

Kirup Park Envoy
DOB 10/12/09
We are also able to add the genetics of Kirup Park Envoy, although he is horned he will give us some width and muscling traits. We are using him over females who we believe to be homozygous polled as a test, if they give us polled calves we are able to make reasonable assumptions until a test is available, which is hopefully not to far away.
