People need to understand that unless an animal has test results to back up its polled status, it is not known what their true status is. I thought I could tell by looking at head shape, but have had a couple with the flat domed head who cannot be homozygous polled as they have one horned parent. I have had more success with head shape as a predictor with bulls calves than heifers, but beware animals who are claimed to be homozygous polled without the backup of testing.
We have had it confirmed that Kirup Park Jag by Design also carries red as a few of his calves out of red cows have been red.
We will have a few polled bulls, both black and red available, but interest will need to be registered early or they will be steered.
There are only six more cows to calve, so rain over the next few days should see a few more born.
