It has taken us several years to build up our numbers where we now feel we can produce enough animals to start supplying our niche market on a regular basis.  This has resulted in other like minded individuals seizing the opportunity to join our syndicate, producing animals to the same quality and standard which we have strived to achieve.

 

We have formulated our own feed ration using predominantly Barley, which gives excellent results, with some animals gaining up to 95kg in a 60 day period at the same time achieving a fat score of 4 - 6mm.

 

A customer base is well established for the end product and we are now reaping the rewards with our turnover increasing in leaps and bounds.

 

We also attend shows, demonstrations and field days to meet prospective customers.  Many of whom have heard about Dexters but never enjoyed a close up and personal experience.  All of our females have excellent temperaments and each has it’s own personality.  They basically sell themselves, with many going as house cows to small landholders, or to individuals who can see the potential in growing the beef, if only for their own freezer.

Breed a totally red herd of stud cattle.

 

Breed a line of excellent quality polled Dexters that are red or carry red genetics.

 

We are down sizing our herd due to a life changing event and look forward to enjoying more time with our smaller mob of cattle and working maybe not quite so hard.

We registered our own brand in September 2004, with final paperwork being completed in May 2005.  This now creates product recognition for our finished beef cuts.

Our syndicate of members, will then be able to apply this brand to their beef.  They must meet strict quality controls, by feeding our ration formula for finishing and employ the same husbandry techniques.  This will ensure continuity of the end result.
