Having the pregnant heifers through the yards yesterday gave us a good chance to see how they were going in terms of their udder development in preparation for calving.  I am pleased to say they are all well and truly in calf, with the first due at the end of July.

They are such an even line of heifers, and these will be the first calves by Rawlings ET and Kirup Park Esquire, I can't wait to see what they produce.

I will let everyone know as soon as we start calving, both the heifers and the rest of the cows.

We have just completed our second round of blood testing for our rising two year old heifers and our young bull as part of the MAP for Johnes and to allow us to comply with the guidleines required to maintain our MN3 status.  The results will be back early next week, but I don't see any problems.

The results are back and all are negative, so great news, not that we expected anything different.
